ALKEMIST 03
ALKEMIST 03 is the entry point into the Alkemist universe.
Built almost entirely in black and stripped of unnecessary ornament, it focuses attention on the purity of Gabon ebony, allowing jewelry to appear only where it carries genuine meaning. The result is understated from a distance yet increasingly complex as the cue is handled, assembled, and examined.
PURE CABINETMAKING
Stability begins long before the first cut. The Gabon ebony was seasoned for sixty-two months, while the Purpleheart selected for the internal core rested for fourteen months.
Assembly was completed at a controlled 8% moisture content. The forearm, handle, and butt sleeve are made from Gabon ebony (Diospyros crassiflora), a prized tonewood exceeding 1,000 kilograms per cubic meter. Its naturally black color creates unusual visual restraint without stains or dyes.
A dense, rigid Purpleheart core runs through the butt as its structural backbone. The cue is prepared for an internal weight-bolt system that allows both total weight and balance point to be adjusted. Its playing setup can therefore be tuned to the owner’s preference without changing the cue’s exterior architecture.
Two shafts provide deliberately different playing characteristics. The first is roasted Hard Rock Maple with a pro taper, producing a long, uniform bridge section and a familiar pool-cue feel. The second is roasted Curly Maple with a conical European taper, developing progressively greater stiffness as stroke power increases. Both shafts finish at 12.5 millimeters and are fitted with Ivorine ferrules and eight-layer SS Inviktcues tips. Changing shafts gives the same cue a noticeably different hit and response.
JEWELLERY
Super Tusk rings define the cue’s sections and provide one of the few visible contrasts against the deep ebony.
ALKEMIST 03 incorporates natural F VVS2 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.80 carats. The 925 sterling silver forms the capsules and joint ring; 750-fineness White Gold+ is reserved for the small structures that hold and display the stones.
INFINITY DIAMONDS
The bumper contains one of Alkemist’s signature details. Its sterling-silver capsule carries a 1.50-millimeter brilliant-cut diamond and houses three 2.70-millimeter infinity diamonds , individually mounted in 750-fineness White Gold+ settings.
The inner module is interchangeable and customizable: the owner may replace it with a personal composition incorporating letters, numbers, or other chosen elements. The bumper therefore becomes more than a technical termination; it serves as a private field for identity within the cue.
PROTECTION
Three Juma Black joint protectors maintain the butt’s uninterrupted color. Each integrates a sterling-silver mini capsule crowned by a 1.20-millimeter brilliant-cut diamond.
Six 2.50-millimeter diamonds are arranged on White Gold+ structures: three in the butt protector, two in one shaft protector, and one in the remaining protector. Extra-quality natural cabochons finish the shaft protectors—one fine emerald and one fine ruby. Their color is revealed only when the cue is taken apart.
The joint uses a 925 sterling-silver ring. A 2.70-millimeter brilliant-cut diamond is set in White Gold+ at the tip of the joint pin, hidden whenever the cue is assembled. ALKEMIST 03 is presented in a custom-built walnut presentation case, individually fitted and engraved with the individual cue number.
